Pokemon Leaf Green Status

--Kyobai 22 Driaji--

Not only do I have Pokemon Ruby, I also have Leaf Green!! Anyway, in that game, I'm doing something I never did before in any game: I'm catching every possible Pokemon and raising them all at the same time. I've been playing it for quite a while--about 140 hours, in fact. What I did was that I first got my first Pokemon (Charmander) and caught every possible Pokemon in the area. I raised them all to level 10 then beat Brock. Then I explored every possible area, caught more Pokemon, and raised them all to level 20. After beating Misty, I did the same catch/explore technique and got everybody to level 25, then beat Lt. Surge. The same went after that except I got everyone to level 30, then I beat Erika. A lot of progress so far--that last step took a long time!

*After beating Erika, I had a lot more Pokemon to catch, especially Snorlax and the Safari Zone Pokemon. (Catching the Safari Zone Pokemon took forever!) I then raised them all to level 35, which also took forever. Then, I looked at the Pokemon who can evolve or learn moves before level 38--I raised those "special Pokemon" to their appropriate levels. Even this took forever, especially one of them was a Grimer who knew Sludge and not much else useful...

*I spent a lot of time with that above step--the most time of all the steps because there were so many Pokemon to raise--almost 60! But in all that time, I became quite attached to some of my Pokemon... Some of the ones I really like are:

Tesumuro: She was the first Pokemon I caught--she was a little Pidgey then. I had a bit of trouble raising her because her Modest nature lowered her attack power. But still I love her too much to replace her, so now she's a Pidgeot and doing great!
Murandi: As a Spearow he had really bad luck with Pidgey when I raised him. I personally think he's jealous of Tesumuro... but I think they will make good mates.
Gomai: A Brave nature made this Slowpoke even slower! But she's my "dumb girl" of the family, and she finally found a Shellder that bit her tail just recently.
Pirumi: A Jolly Clefairy she once was, but she recently evolved into Clefable. I give her lots of attention because she needs that happiness to use Return, plus she knows Water Pulse as well.
Aurine: A FEMALE VAPOREON!!! Wow, that's rare! I didn't even have to restart the game to get it--that was on my first try! Anyways, she has high Special Attack for a Vaporeon...
Pufflet: My Chansey. Her Hidden Power turned out to be Fire-type--that's the only special attack she has. She also knows Counter, which I think is pretty neat on a Chansey as it could do a LOT of damage. (Chansey has super low defense and super high HP--a Cross Chop user won't stand a chance if Chansey survives!)
Sunedriva: I really like this Hypno, especially because I caught Snorlax quite easily after she battled him alone! (It was a long battle too--Snorlax Rested a lot, and Sunedriva must have used Dream Eater ten times!)
Wondergoo: I love Ditto! It's such fun to train a Pokemon that can transform into the opponent!
Teledriva: This Haunter knows Shadow Punch (Ball later on--she's only level 35), Psychic, Confuse Ray, Curse... she almost has the most perfect moveset of all my Pokemon!

*The gym battles...
--Brock was easy to beat, but without my Butterfree I wouldn't have stood a chance...
--Misty was a bit more difficult. I don't exactly remember the battle, but I remember Pikachu and Weepinbell did quite well.
--The battle with Lt. Surge was long. My Sandslash easily KO'd his Voltorb(?) and Pikachu, but Raichu was difficult, sort of. He kept using Double Team!! Sandslash's Scratches almost never hit! Raichu eventually KO'd Sandslash with lots of Quick Attacks... So I sent out Onix, hoping for the best with his Rock Throw. After a while, Raichu apparently ran out of PP for Quick Attack and used Thunderbolt instead, which didn't affect Onix. Eventually, Rock Throw hit, and we won.
--I expected Erika to start with Tangela (my Beedrill was ready with its Twineedle), but she used Victreebel instead! Even though Beedrill was paralyzed by Stun Spore, he eventually KO'd Victreebel. I used my own Weepinbell against her Tangela--Acid KO'd it after two hits, and all Tangela did was use Ingrain. Vileplume was hard to beat, especially because it paralyzed my Butterfree, but after being fully paralyzed one turn, Butterfree KO'd Vileplume with a series of Confusion attacks.

^^Those battles were easy, but I expected the battle with Koga would be much harder, just as it was in Yellow. I expected him to have at least Venomoth and Golbat, so I came ready with my own Golbat and others...

*But the battle wasn't harder than I expected--it was a lot easier than the other gym battles! First, Koga sent out a Koffing, and I used Kadabra. Kadabra KO'd Koffing with one Psychic attack! Then Koga sent out Muk, and I switched Graveler in. Graveler used Magnitude twice to KO him, first Magnitude 6 then 7. In between, Muk just used Minimize... (I thought he would try Sludge, so I came prepared with a Pecha Berry, but I didn't have to!) After that, Koga sent out another Koffing, so I used Kadabra again. The same fate met the second Koffing as it did with the first. Then finally, Koga sent out his Weezing. I had an instinct to switch to Haunter and use Curse, but I hoped Kadabra could KO the Weezing. I felt uneasy because Weezing was 7 levels higher than my Kadabra, but Kadabra's Psychic attack KO'd Weezing on the first turn! Wow Kadabra, that was amazing! I guess Weezing has low Special Defense while Kadabra has high Special Attack... (yeah 116 is good for a level 36 Pokemon!)

*Beating Koga opened up a lot of new areas because Surf was available as a field move. Just recently I caught Koffing, Magnemite, Tentacool, Seel, Slowbro (which I traded for Lickitung), and Tangela. I also get Kabuto and Aerodactyl from fossils! Unfortunately, they're both level 5, so I have a lot of training to do... (Good thing I have an Exp. Share!!)

*Next I'll get everyone to level 40, or up to 45 if some Pokemon evolve or learn new attacks. At some point I'll try to catch the legendary birds... and see if I can find those new islands...
