New Harry Potter book

--Watibai 18 Miyaji--

Hey, did you know that the sixth book in the Harry Potter series has come out? ("Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince") Well, I just wanted to announce that--the book just came out this morning, in case you were waiting for it! The reason I posted this was partially because I like that book, and I can't wait to start reading it, especially since I already read the other five! I like the fifth book the best, followed by the third--the fifth almost made me cry in the end--that's how I can tell it's good.

Possible new Pokemon??

Sanabai 14 Miyaji

Wow, sorry about the long break... Anyways, I just created two new characters that just might become Pokemon, if I find room for them in the dex... Introducing Seagret and Herocarina!! I think the names say it all, but they're basically sea bird Pokemon of the Water/Flying-type, kind of like Wingull and Pelipper. But they both specialize in Water Gun attacks, which is especially assisted by their long beaks... I actually created them about three years ago then got rid of them because I thought they were no good, but my "character necromancer" may be able to bring them back from the dead...

That's all for now--I'm sure there'll be more soon...

The first REAL post... Pokemon Ruby progress

Hi, did you know I have Pokemon Ruby? Yes, it's true, and on it I have 8 badges but have not beaten the Elite 4. This entry is about my level 41 Sceptile named Frogger...

-In Ruby, Frogger did something miraculous. One day, I walked into the Pokemon Fan Club in Slateport City, and the president told me Frogger was growing very well and gave me a Red Scarf. I then decided to attach it to Frogger then test it out in a Contest. Now, Frogger has 6 ribbons already: Normal, Super, and Hyper ranks for both Coolness and Smartness. (He has an Adamant nature, so his Coolness is higher even though I fed him spicy and bitter Pokeblocks.) Anyways, this time I decided to try a Master rank Coolness Contest. This is when the true miracle happened...
-So the Contest began. The preliminary round didn't go that well, even with the Red Scarf--half the other Pokemon got three points, and Frogger and someone else got two. Frogger ended up being in last place for the first appeal in the second round...
-In the first turn, since Frogger went last, he used Cut. This worked fairly well, since the Kirlia that went first had made a good appeal with Shock Wave and thus lost 6 points. A Heracross (went 2nd) used Endure to avoid it, though... I hoped Loudred (went 3rd) would startle him, but he just used Howl...
-This is the miracle I'm talking about... In the second turn, Frogger was 2nd--right after Kirlia. This time I decided to try Leaf Blade, which depends on the appeal before. I don't remember exactly which move Kirlia did, but it wasn't a very good appeal. When Frogger used Leaf Blade, the text said that "It stood out much more than the Pokemon before", and Frogger got 6 points! What's more, he got the crowd going with his Coolness and ended up with about 12 points! Even though he later lost 3 points from Loudred's Hyper Voice, he still made the best appeal any of my Pokemon ever did. This bumped him way ahead of the other Pokemon.
-In the third turn, Frogger went first, and I didn't want anyone else to get the crowd going. So Frogger just stalled with Pursuit. The good thing was, he didn't get startled...
-In the fourth turn, since crowd excitement was low, I decided on another Leaf Blade, since it had the highest appeal points of any of Frogger's moves and he was going first. Even though some of the other Pokemon made 6-point appeals, nobody beat Frogger when the points were tallied. And also, in this turn, Loudred used Roar, which scrambled up next turn's appeal order...
-Because of Loudred's Roar, Frogger ended up going last. So why not another Cut in case other Pokemon make big-appeal finales? Well, it turned out that everyone else made exactly 3 points of appeal, and nobody avoided being startled. Even though another Pokemon attracted the crowd's attention, Frogger got 2 points and everyone else lost 2. So it turned out that Frogger ended up with the most appeal points!
-And the tallying up of points for the winner... It turns out that everyone got 4 stars in the first round (including Frogger), though Frogger's meter seemed to be the lowest for that... But in the second round, one Pokemon got 3 hearts, two others had 4, and Frogger had 5! The two 4's got a close-to-full meter, but Frogger ended up winning the contest! It was the most miraculous contest I was ever in...
-The only thing bad about it was that after the contest, I forgot to talk to the painter guy to make a picture of Frogger... But he still got the ribbon!
-Frogger now holds the record for being a multi-star Pokemon, because he has the most ribbons of any Pokemon I ever had (7 total), and he's also one of my best battling Pokemon. Oh Frogger...

^Sorry if that sounded mushy...

New Date Announcement!!

You know the little blue date I sometimes put at the top of posts? I do that whenever a new day of posting starts. Now, it's a minor thing, but it's supposed to be based on an extraterrestrial calendar... I won't bore you with all the details, but each month (ending in "ji") has 30 days (except Fataji, which is at the end of February), and each month is divided into five weeks. The week consists of six days (ending in "bai"), which are surprisingly the same length as Earth days. There are twelve months in a quarter (an Earth year), if you don't count Fataji, which marks the end of the quarter. The quarter starts on our March 1st. A year consists of four quarters, and at the end of the year is a "day the world stands still", according to legend. This is actually Leap Day, February 29. Why it's so similar to Earth's calendar, I don't know... To learn more, look at the top of daily posts...
